Shropshire to most means stunning pastoral scenes; quaint villages dotted amid green fields and rolling hills; the birthplace of modern industry and the home of some of the country’s finest home-produced foods.

But as if that was not enough, look beyond the stunning rural landscape and there sits an even greater wealth – a vast bank of creative skills and talent covering every aspect of business and commerce.

Shropshire Business Today is a free, monthly business-to-business lifestyle magazine which aims to highlight the huge extent of enterprise which Shropshire has to offer by creating a platform for businesses to demonstrate their achievements, share their stories and raise their issues.

Each monthly issue focuses on a specific theme, ranging from manufacturing, transport, food and design, through education and training to the retail world and beyond.

But we are not just about work.  Behind every business there are families in search of good schools, who want to live in beautiful homes and enjoy the benefits of a county which made them want to be here in the first place. So Shropshire Business Today also looks at the lighter side of county life, including the social side of business, and how to splash out to enjoy the fruits of all that hard labour!

Shropshire Business Today was created for Shropshire’s business community by two county women, former local newspaper editor Sarah-Jane Smith and banker Annabel Marsden. It is now edited by Carl Jones, an award-winning journalist, former Business Editor of the Shropshire Star, and three-time finalist in the Midlands Business Journalist of the Year award.
