Telford manufacturer Agropharm is creating a number of new jobs openings at its Overley Hill plant as part of a £600,000 expansion.
Agropharm, one of the UK’s leading insecticide manufacturers, is currently expanding its manufacturing facilities with the addition of new buildings, a new on-site road structure, development laboratories and an environmentally friendly bottling line.
The increased capacity will lead to the creation of several General Operative roles with the potential for candidates to move up to Line Supervisor. Another Formulations Chemist has also been recruited to work on site in the newly opened, world-class development laboratory.
Geoff Foxon, Managing Director of Agropharm, said: “This extensive expansion programme will not only improve our environmental performance but will also enable us to increase our manufacturing capacity by at least 20 per cent and create jobs locally. We currently have 27 staff on site and look forward to expanding our team.”
The Telford six acre factory develops and manufactures quality products for both the public health market in the UK and Ireland and agrochemical markets internationally. The new bottling line will enable Agropharm to expand its organic product lines, which are sold to the horticultural industry producing organic crops.
Agropharm received a grant from Birmingham City council to help fund the new buildings which house the bottling line and the new water-recycling boiler. £450,000 was raised in bank loans to finance the expansion.
