Yoga entrepreneur stretches into Shropshire

The founder of an award winning baby and children’s yoga company with licensees across the UK has moved to Shropshire . . . and is on the lookout for new recruits.

Michele Burton set up Mitchy Titch in 2008 and has since seen it grow to more than 33 licensees and 120 classes across the UK and Ireland.

Mrs Burton has now moved with her husband Adrian from Staffordshire to Madeley in Telford where she is already running her own classes in Wellington and Perton and has new classes starting in Shifnal in September.

But the successful businesswoman wants to attract new men and women who want to set up their own business to run classes in the county so she can concentrate on expanding her company further.

The baby and children’s yoga fun and fitness classes have been nominated for awards for five out of six years by ‘What’s On 4 Juniors’ including Best National Development Awards for Newborn to two years and two years to five years and won awards from Netmums and Businesses for Children Awards.

Mrs Burton said the training of other Mitchy Titch teachers is a fundamental part of the business and is accredited by the leading authority Complimentary Therapies Association and Open College Network West Midlands Region which has awarded the training Level 3 status.

Mrs Burton started the business due to her passion to want to make a difference to parent and carers relationships with their babies and children, whilst having physical activity and educational learning, preparing them for school and nursery and promoting a physically fit lifestyle whilst teaching parents and children how to interact with each other.

Her successful business has since attracted partners including leading children’s brands including Mothercare, Kiddicare, Kiddisave and Busy Bees.

“Every single one of the Mitchy Titch classes are lively and fun and include exercises for the adults too and they also get to take their newly learned skills home to show other family members who can then continue it within the home setting,” she said.

“Mitchy Titch isn’t just about the enjoyment of the class time but also the enjoyment of Mitchy Titch at home too – the happy, healthy and physically fit lifestyle and the chance to relax together at times when bringing up a baby or child can be very stressful.

“My husband and I love Shropshire and have already enjoyed running the new classes and I am confident it won’t be long before I am introducing Shropshire’s first licensee.”
